How to connect a kitchen screen

The kitchen screen shows orders to the cooks the moment the cash register sends them — no paper tickets. You do not need a separate program: it is a mode of the same Goovii POS app as the cash register. A tablet or a TV with a browser will do.

Step 1. Create the screen in the dashboard

1. In the dashboard, open Kitchen screens.
2. Add a New kitchen screen and give it a name: “Hot kitchen”, “Bar”, “Pizza”.
3. Save — the dashboard will show a Pairing code.

Step 2. Connect the device

1. On the tablet, open the Goovii POS app and tap This is a kitchen screen on the login screen. Or open the kitchen screen link shown in the dashboard in the browser of a tablet or TV.
2. Enter the pairing code from the dashboard.
3. The screen will start showing orders. If the kitchen has several areas, you can keep only your own kitchen station on the screen or show all stations together.

How the cook works

• The order card shows the receipt number, the waiter, the “Takeaway”, “Delivery” or “QR order” labels, the guest’s comment and add-ons.
• The first tap on a dish marks it Preparing, the second — Ready; the All ready button closes the order.
• A dish marked by mistake can be returned from the list of dishes completed in the last half hour.
• A new order comes with a sound; the volume is set on the screen.

If the internet goes down

The screen keeps showing the last known orders with a “No connection” label and updates by itself when the connection returns. More about the feature on the Kitchen Display page.
