A certificate that's easy to sell and easy to redeem
A gift certificate brings a new guest to your venue, and you get paid for it upfront. Paper certificates tracked by hand are hard to verify: it's unclear whether a certificate is genuine, how much is left on it, or whether it's already been used. In Goovii, every certificate has a unique code and a live balance.
How certificates work
- Issue in the dashboard. Set the face value, expiry date and a comment — the system generates a code you can copy and print on the certificate.
- Redeem at the register. The cashier selects the "Gift certificate" payment method and enters the code. The register checks whether the certificate is valid and how much is on it.
- Remaining balance. If the bill is less than the face value, the rest stays on the certificate for the next visit.
- Control. The list shows every certificate: face value, balance, expiry date and status. A certificate can be voided — after that, its balance can no longer be used for payment.
Tips without the confusion
Tips belong to the staff, not the venue, so in Goovii they never mix with revenue. After closing a receipt, the cashier records the tip amount, how it was paid — cash or card — and the employee it belongs to. Tips don't go into the receipt, the revenue or the shift cash, so your venue's reports and the cash in the drawer stay accurate.
In the "Tips" section you can see, for any period, how much each employee received: in cash, by card and in total. It's transparent for the team and convenient for the manager who distributes tips.
Part of the whole system
Certificates complement loyalty programs and promotions, while tip tracking complements the staff and payroll section. All of your venue's money stays in financial accounting.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I redeem a gift certificate at the register?
The cashier selects the "Gift certificate" payment method and enters the code. The register verifies the certificate and deducts the bill amount from its balance.
What happens if a guest doesn't spend the full certificate amount?
The remaining balance stays on the certificate and can be used on the next visit while the certificate is valid.
Are tips counted as venue revenue?
No. Tips are recorded after the receipt is closed and are not included in the receipt, revenue or shift cash — the report shows how much belongs to each employee.
Can I cancel an issued certificate?
Yes. A certificate can be voided in the dashboard — after that, its balance can no longer be used for payment.
What hardware does the Goovii register run on?
The register runs on Android tablets and smartphones, Windows computers and iOS. It connects to receipt printers via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and to bank POS terminals. The number of registers is unlimited and doesn't affect the price.
Can I try Goovii for free?
Yes, the first 15 days are free, with no card required. During this time you can set up your menu, connect the register and make your first sales, then choose a plan afterwards.
